I have taken the Praxis for ESL, my raw score was 150. Does someone know what the converted score would be ?

It is extremely rare for a raw score to be different when scaled, barring any testing discrepancies. I think it is safe to say that your scaled score is also 150. What score did you need to pass?

The good news is that you are really close. I would write down the questions that you remember and anything that you struggled with and to study those concepts for next time. I’ve heard from other posters on here that the test makers sometimes reuse questions, so you may luck out and get the same question(s) next time!

If you took 5361, it has just 120 standard single-response questions, so the maximum raw score at one point per correct response would be 120 or less. It follows that your 150 is most likely your unofficial scaled score.

It's frustrating to come short of passing by just five points - but, as has already been noted, the flip side is that you did come that close.

What have you been using to prepare?

My score given at the end of this test was the same as my official score. If you need to retake it, I recommend using quizlet to help study!

    Hello!
I was wondering if you could guide me about ESOL 5362. The official passing score for Commonwealth of Virginia is 149. The test contains 120 multiple choice questions. I wanted to know what is the passing percentage of this test? Or in other words what percentage is 149 equivalent to?
Secondly, as you guided me in the past about 5038. I scored a 165 and the state passing is 167--I didn't pass. After a month, I took the test again and I noticed that the test was a lot tougher than my previous attempt. This time I failed by 17 points. I was highly enthusiastic about my passing but alas, I couldn't. Any tips?
    Many thanks

I’m not sure if this is helpful but I took the 5362 PRAXIS and scored a 192. I got 92 questions correct of the 108 that counted on my test. I completed a program at Regent University prior to taking the test and would recommend that if you’re nearby.

Different versions of a test can indeed differ in difficulty, studyforteacher, and that's precisely why scaled scores exist. Without knowing exactly which version of 5362 you took, it's not possible to tell you definitively what raw-point percentage that scaled score of 149 equates to.

As for 5038, that's a discussion to have in a thread on 5038.

    Hello-
I didn’t see any versions when I was registering for 5362; however, I Took the test yesterday and the score reported was NS. Any thoughts?

You wouldn't have been told which version of the test you were taking, studyforteacher. But the "NS" tells me that you were given a version that hasn't been in use for very long because the mapping of raw scores to scaled scores hasn't been established yet.

As TeacherGroupie previously stated, it doesn’t tell you anything for the exact reason she outlined. Unofficial raw scores are eventually scaled to your official test score. You had a version that doesn’t have enough data to be transformed, that is, scaled, and so you received a NS (no score). You will have to wait, I’m afraid, because there is absolutely no way to tell until then. Your score could be anywhere from horrendous to exceptional and everywhere in between.

If 5362 includes any constructed responses, NS may also appear because an overall score can't be reported: Praxis uses at least one human scorer, so the results aren't available at testing time.
