Secondary Art Demo

    Hi! I just went on a first interview for a secondary art position. I was curious if anyone had any suggestions for a demo lesson, and what has worked for them? Thank you!!!

    Clearly, this person is not an art teacher...

    I did a lesson where students created ink blots by dropping ink onto paper, then rocking the paper to make the ink run across the paper in different directions. Then they would look at the lines and shapes created by the ink and decide if they "saw" anything in these lines and shapes (sort of like when you look up at clouds and see animal shapes). Then I gave them oil pastels and they used them on top of the ink blot in order to bring forth the image they saw. It's a fun lesson and kids like it, and it is focused on creativity.
